Confetti is the easiest, most affordable, completely automatic expense and mileage tracking app around. Period.
Contractors, consultants, freelancers, and other self-employed individuals lose $1000s each year not properly tracking their business purchases (expenses) or logging miles driven. Business purchase, and miles driven for work, can mean tax deductions. And tax deductions mean a lot more money in your pocket. Whether you collect a shoebox of receipts or use clunky apps, things fall through the cracks and get screwed up. You end up spending a lot of time and losing a lot of money.
Confetti ends the hassle. No crazy feature overload or confusing layout. Just swipe and go!
We sync with your bank accounts and phone’s GPS (and wifi network and cellular data) to automatically display your daily purchases and miles driven. They show up daily as big cards. Cards sorta like in popular dating apps.
Swipe a purchase transaction or trip card left to categorize it as ‘personal’ (such as buying your morning cup of coffee, driving to the gym, going to dinner with friends, or buying groceries). Swipe a card right to categorize it as ‘business’ (such as purchasing supplies for your business, driving to a meeting, taking a client to dinner, or purchasing software). It’s that simple.
We utilize a third-party provider called Plaid. Their service connects with thousands of banks around the world. They send us your daily transactions (such as purchases you make on your credit card). The access Plaid has is called ‘read-only’. It means they can simply read the transactions in your connected bank accounts and send the data to us. We then display them to you. Neither they, nor Confetti, can make any purchases, transfers, or changes to your bank account.
You can also manually add purchase transactions and trips. For example, while we link to your bank accounts as described above, you should manually add transactions made with cash.
Generally, purchase transactions and trips show up as cards on the same day they are made, but there may be exceptions for technical matters beyond our control (for example, delays caused by individual banks).
At Confetti we believe in complete fee transparency. Other applications in the App Store use deceptive marketing tactics. For example, many claim their applications track expenses and miles “automatically’ when they really require manual entry. Others claim they provide automatic tracking for “free” - when, in reality, automatic tracking requires an in-app purchase. We want you to know, upfront, exactly what we charge and why we charge it. No sneaky marketing.
Fees are necessary because we work with third-party providers that enable us to sync with thousands of banks and properly track your trips.
Yes. In the menu of the app you can select “Export”. We will email you a file of your purchase transactions and miles traveled (organized into various useful categories). You can also choose to add someone else to the email, such as your accountant. The menu can be accessed by tapping the little button with three lines in the top-left of the app home screen.
In the very near future we will be launching integration with other third party services you use, such as Quickbooks.
We, and our third-party bank sync provider, use strong, industry-standard technical protections for your data.
Cancellation must be done through your iTunes Account Settings.
